Awareness workshop: Thinking about classism and racism together

Start: 07.05.2026 End: 08.05.2026

This workshop is aimed at (anti-racism) consultants from contexts of working within and with migrant communities, who are not necessarily already active in consulting practice and would like to deepen their perspectives on the concepts of discrimination, oppression and exploitation.
The focus is on examining class relations and racism. This includes exploring the popular term "classism" to better understand the interplay between class and racism. The aim is to understand key concepts, historical continuities, and structural mechanisms, and to relate them to one's own consulting practice.

The aim is to strengthen sensitivity to structural dynamics of disadvantage and unequal treatment in the counseling context and to further develop a critical yet empowering counseling approach. The workshop is designed to be easily accessible, participatory, and builds upon the existing knowledge and experience of the participants.

This workshop is part of a qualification process and helps to consolidate existing knowledge, broaden perspectives and strengthen professional practice in dealing with complex experiences of inclusion and exclusion.
