SCHOOL MAKES SOCIETY – For a school critical of racism
Date: 11.11.2024 at 15: 00 - 20:00
For many children, young people, parents and teachers, racism is part of everyday school life. Often, racist behavior and structures in the school context are not named, but trivialized or denied. In order to provide equal education for all, the school system must be further developed in a way that is critical of racism.
Migrant self-organizations (MSO), clubs and committed people are already making important contributions to reducing racism. Racist practices and structures must be identified so that an inclusive anti-racist learning environment can be created.
With this conference, we will make racist discrimination in the context of education visible and work out which changes are necessary from a migrant perspective so that anti-racist action can succeed in the school learning environment.
The conference aims to raise awareness of racism in schools, to develop individual and structural solutions and to develop and deepen the basis for the establishment of effective anti-discrimination structures in and around schools.
The conference is aimed at representatives of civil society, including MSOs, parents, school staff, administration and politics. Through joint strategy discussions, we want to deepen the basis for building effective anti-discrimination structures in and around schools.
