Practical module: Weight discrimination and intersectionality

The German Anti-Discrimination Association (advd) invites you to the project “Community-based counseling” Practical module: Weight discrimination and intersectionality This workshop will explore the topic Anti-fatness from an intersectional perspective. The understanding of weight discrimination is expanded to include aspects of Pathologization and normalization as colonial-racist continuity A special focus is on the Raising awareness among participants and the analysis of structural levels of weight discrimination as an everyday reality.

Target group:
The module is aimed at independent consultants who deal with intersectional forms of discrimination and wish to deepen their practice in this area.

Note on certificate acquisition:
Since the compulsory module “Discrimination and Intersectionality” will no longer be offered in 2025, we are examining whether this workshop can be recognized as a replacement. Since the contents of the practical module rather in-depth and do not exactly replace the compulsory module, it may be necessary additional texts or pre-tasks to edit.

If you use this practical module for Recognition for the compulsory module would like to use, we ask for a prompt response by by 27 March 2025 at the latest Melisa Salazar so that the necessary additional materials can be sent in time.
