Principles of the AGG

The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) provides a central legal framework for protection against discrimination in the workplace. At the same time, discrimination in the workplace manifests itself not only in isolated incidents, but also in organizational routines, structures, and power relations. This workshop combines an introduction to the fundamentals of the AGG with a critical perspective on power dynamics and discrimination within organizations.

Participants learn to understand the scope and limitations of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) in the workplace and to recognize discrimination from both a legal and a power-critical perspective. Discrimination is viewed as a structural and intersectional phenomenon that can be reflected in organizational processes, team dynamics, and institutional frameworks.

The workshop also provides an opportunity to reflect on one's own role and positioning within organizational power structures and to clarify the scope for action in a professional context. Using practical examples, concrete possibilities are developed for how to proactively address discrimination in everyday work and how to respond appropriately in specific cases.

Peer case consultation with the ADS and German AIDS Service Organization (LUBE)

Peer case consultation takes place regularly and is an online format offered by the Anti-Discrimination Advisory Service of the German Anti-Discrimination Association in cooperation with the Advisory Department of the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency, the German AIDS Service Organization (Lube – Against Discrimination in Healthcare), and the Federal Office for Discrimination in Schools (FADAS).
