BERTHA Online Professional Exchange: Service agreements for anti-discrimination and complaint structures in the workplace

Service agreements are an important building block for establishing complaint structures against discrimination in the workplace. In this online professional exchange, we will examine the fundamentals, as well as frequently asked questions and challenges, in the creation and implementation of service agreements for contact and complaint structures, particularly in the municipal context and the public sector.

Using concrete practical examples, we address key questions, such as: Which legal foundations and regulations are particularly important? Which dimensions of discrimination – including those beyond the characteristics protected by the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) – can be defined and enshrined, and how? We also discuss how a process can be practically structured and how different stakeholders can be involved.

 

Format: Two experts from the field – Christine Burmann, Commissioner for Discrimination and LGBTQ Issues at the City of Nuremberg and representative of the network of municipal anti-discrimination offices, and Julia Tonndorf, anti-discrimination consultant and speaker for anti-discrimination at Diversity Arts Culture – will report on their experiences in creating and implementing service agreements for effective complaint structures. There will be time for questions afterwards.
